At the heart of Cairo, explore El Darb El Ahamar Street, filled with stunning Islamic monuments like mosques, palaces, houses, mausoleums, collage, one of Cairo gates, and part of ancient Cairo walls which protect the city against invading armies. Visit handicraft market and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Your Tours guide will pick you up from your Cairo hotel to begin your journey through the historic heart of Islamic Cairo. The tour starts at El Azhar Park, where you'll take a golf cart ride to Bab Zuweila, Cairo's southern gate dating back to 1092 AD. From there, we'll visit the El Saleh Tala’i Mosque (1160 AD) and the Qijmas Ishaqi Mosque (also known as the Abu Hariba Mosque, built in 1482 AD and featured on the 50 Egyptian pound note). Continuing by golf cart, we’ll explore the Ahmed El Mehmendar Mosque (1324 AD) and the El Altinbugha al-Maridani Mosque (1340 AD). Next, we'll visit the Bayt Al-Razzaz Palace, an ancient house built between the late 15th and 18th centuries, followed by the Aqsunqur Mosque (Cairo Blue Mosque), constructed in 1347 AD. Throughout the day, we'll visit many more historical sites, culminating with a short video presentation at the El Azhar Park showroom. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a high-quality local restaurant before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay in Cairo.
